Care Guide
Treat it well.
It lasts forever.
The Beaumont is 800 GSM Egyptian long-staple cotton. It is built to get better with use, not worse — but it rewards the right care.
Before the first wash
Wash it before you use it.
Egyptian long-staple cotton is finished with a light sizing agent during weaving. This is normal and washes out completely. Your first wash activates the fibres. By the twelfth wash, The Beaumont reaches its peak softness. From there, it only improves.
01
Machine wash at 40°C.
Cold water is fine too. Hot water — above 60°C — can damage the cotton fibres over time. Gentle cycle preferred.
Do not exceed 60°C.
02
No fabric softener.
Fabric softener coats cotton fibres with a waxy residue that reduces absorbency. The Beaumont does not need softening — it softens itself.
Never use softener or dryer sheets.
03
Line dry when you can.
Air drying preserves the cotton fibres longest and uses no energy. Shake the towel before hanging to restore loft.
Or tumble dry on low.
04
No bleach.
Bleach breaks down long-staple cotton fibres irreversibly. If your Beaumont needs brightening, use an oxygen-based whitener at low temperature.
Never bleach.
05
Store flat or rolled.
Fold flat or roll loosely in the linen dust bag when not in use. Never store damp — leave it to dry completely first.
Never store damp or folded tight.
06
After salt or chlorine.
Rinse briefly in fresh water after each use in the sea or pool. Wash normally when you get home. Salt and chlorine wash out completely.
Rinse, then wash as normal.
